Chalk Festival

Hey Kids,
On Saturday I took a break and walked up to the Chalk and Chocolate Festival. Rather than chocolate I decided to buy a box of pastels and decorate the sidewalk. It was fun--but, did you know that sitting on your haunches uses the same muscles as those you use for doing deep knee lunges. . . . . .3 and a half hours of chalk drawing ends up feeling like 30 lunging-laps around a football field. Amazing what muscles are lame today! It was a good diversion, though; and the day was sunny.
Sending love!

Mom, I love the picture it is amazing. Did you have any spectators while you were working on this masterpiece? Have you walked by to see if it is still there?

I can't believe that only took you 3 hours! Looks like it should have taken days! Sounds like it was a nice diversion from work and life, even if you were sore the next day(s)!

This is gorgeous! Like everyone else, I'm so impressed. Such a physical activity but well worth it. I can't imagine the scale of it--and figuring that all out--on top of executing it. So gorgeous, and I wish I'd been there to take photos. I'm so proud of you, mom!!! :) I hope it was a nice diversion from work.

Thanks--I am really glad you like it. It is an interesting thing to make art that won't be around forever (except in pictures). It was fun and a tremendously good diversion. Proposal writing is intense--when doing it right.
